Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young... a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God." Psalm 84:3

pool preparation

The children have birthdays approaching quickly. With celebrations in July, August and Sept we are about to "turn the page" to odd years. The boys will soon be 11, then 13, and finally, 9 years old. John's Dad and Claudia surprised the three boys yesterday with a combined birthday gift-a new pool! John started setting it up in the side yard, last night...

First, the five of us took our shoes off and walked slowly back and forth across the ground cover, feeling for pinecones, rocks and other protrusions that may tear the bottom.
We can only run the hose for 2 hours at a time, then turn the water off for an hour or more to let the well "catch up". We don't dare risk running our well dry! So we are being super cautious and keep reassuring impatient little swimmers (especially Sam) "soon!"

Caleb immediately asked for the box. He LOVES boxes. He wanted to sleep in it but decided that it wasn't quite long enough. His feet sticking out might tempt the wildlife.

Josiah couldn't pass up the opportunity to roll him!
