Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young... a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God." Psalm 84:3

Happy Birthday Lee!

(with Sam, 1997)

That's right. Sam missed being his paternal grandfather's birthday gift by an hour and 12 minutes! What's strange, is how Josiah missed being born on my grandfather's birthday by 1 day. What's weirder still? Caleb missed being born on his maternal grandfather's birthday by what? you got it. one day.

In 1994 we told John's Dad he was soon going to be a grandfather. I'll never forget the surprise I felt at seeing the grateful tears which welled up in his eyes. His delight at being "Grandpa" has never wavered or faltered since that day. These three boys are his only grandchildren, and he has adored them, all their lives. Now John will tell you that Lee is a great Dad, and his childhood memories of camping, boating and 3-wheeler trips to the Coast are treasured. I can tell you that Lee is a great father-in-law, loving me like a daughter ever since his son started bringing me around as a giggly teenager. But if you want to really see Lee shine? Put him in a room with those boys.
Happy Birthday Lee, we love you so!

Happy Birthday Lee! Thanks so much for all you did to make John such a great guy (and went and married a great gal who ended up having three great kiddos)! You've definitely created a legacy of love and happiness. Congrats!
