Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young... a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God." Psalm 84:3

camping

We went camping with Lee and Claudia last Fri through Sun. That's right-we went to San Francisco, came home for just three days and then left again. The cat is in a state of shock at the constant abandonment and is still deciding whether or not she can forgive us. But we had to go! We had to get in one last S'mores-campfire-whittling-bike riding adventure, before the Winter rains come in full force!

Please enjoy my excellent photography that documented the fun...

It's NOT user error.
It's the camera. It's 5 years old. It's been dropped a lot, too.

Deacon, Hilary and Mackenzie joined us for dinner and we always enjoy getting together with them. The kids played flashlight tag and that was a favorite. Last trip they played pine cone tag, which quickly evolved into a game where you throw pine cones, as hard as you can, at everyone you can.
I liked the flashlight tag option-no injuries, except where Caleb didn't see the tailgate of a truckbed and tried to crack a rib. Otherwise, it was relatively pain free.

How am I going to scrapbook these photos? It could be the "night" button, the flash is wonky.
or perhaps its the Oregon Coast? It was foggy that night, and that could explain why we are all somewhat distorted and fuzzy here...

Caleb has become quite adept at customizing his diet to be gluten free. Who needs graham crackers for S'mores, when you have Lays Stacks potato chips? I tried one, at the chefs insistence, and I must agree with him. The salty crunch of a chip with the creamy marshmallow.

That boy is pure genius.
