Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young... a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God." Psalm 84:3

creative boys

We are getting ready for a Yard Sale in 2 weeks. As we purge and price we remind our little collectors that small bedrooms can only hold so many treasures, and sometimes old needs to be let go in order to welcome new. The real incentive though, is that what they sell, they can keep the funds for. Caleb has started putting Lego sets together in preparation, and making little signs to go along side. Since this Lego mini-figure for sale is a one-of-a-kind Caleb masterpiece, there are no official instructions. So clever boy draws his own! A 3 page book to help the new owner figure out where the head goes. In case he or she forgets which hand holds the banana, and which one holds the red coffee mug.

Sam was incredibly inspired by an Aztec History book he has been reading. Last night he decided to make his own loincloth! Even partial nudity is not appropriate Sparrow Journey content so I leave you to your imagination. Picture an innocently sweet and skinny 10 year old, trying to cover his bright blue Hanes with a piece of computer paper and some ribbon from Mom's scrapbook stash. Then running around the house, whooping. Imagine his mortified older brother asking "Mom?! You aren't going to put THIS on the blog, are you?!!"

and the shrieks of delight from Sam and Caleb when I assure him

"oh yes I AM!"
