Once upon a time, (long, looonng ago) there was a tall, introverted guy and a short, extroverted girl. She laughed too much and talked non-stop. He listened and smiled sideways at her. They fell in and out of love every few months, all through high school. Then he asked her to marry him.
(my senior photo 1989)So that on June 16, 1990 everything changed.
She was still goofy. He was still quiet. and they still fell in and out of love a few times.
But when they hurt each other they asked forgiveness.
And when they didn't know what to do they prayed.
slowly, she started quieting herself.
slowly, he started talking more.
And God poured out His blessing on their stumbling efforts to really love each other.
and He made them a family.
And on the morning of their 18th anniversary he looked at her over a coffee cup and said "You've been married to me half your life, now."
and she grinned up at him and said
"yes. the best half of my life."

You brought tears to my eyes. Good ones though. Praise God!
Looking forward to being with you soon. Kippi
I don't know whether to be sentimental or funny. I guess I'll leave both comments! First off, John, on your senior photo...Rick Springfield called and wants his look back. = ) heh, heh (I'll email you a great picture of Rick to compare!)
Secondly, I loved the part about asking forgiveness and praying when confused or in need of something. So true. Lastly, that's a very sweet picture of your blessings. Still looks like them, even if they've grown a little bit. =) Congrats on so many years together!
Every anniversary I think how many people lost money because they thought we would never make it. I just smile. Brenda I meant what I said. You are my compass always there to help me find a way. I could have never picked a better life companion.
Love John
