Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young... a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God." Psalm 84:3

Monday morning

There was violence posed carefully on the kitchen counter this morning. Caleb was up early and found the toothpicks. This poor Lego mini-figure paid the ultimate price for his Masters creative bent towards carnage.

I dropped something behind the dryer and Sam was happy to play fetch for me. He is lean, agile and best of all-completely fearless (and proud of being so!) When its a tight fit for anything we just hold him by the ankles and dip him in crevices, our own little set of human tongs. This boy has climbed through tiny windows, wiggled under the beds to retrieve toys, and most fun of all? When Daddy has to clean the holding tank of the well and puts him in the giant black cavern that makes everyone else in the house shudder with claustrophobia.
Josiah spent an hour this morning, re-arranging his magnificent Lego creation. Being the firstborn, he has very specific structure set in place and gets a little high strung (okay. you caught his first-born-also-mother, minimizing this but...okay. he freaks out) if anyone messes with it. He also cataloged all the good and bad guys, on lined paper, and posted them on his bulletin board. Ultra responsible has its perks though, all his schoolwork and morning chores were complete before starting. This despite the fact that Mom was still in her pink fuzzy robe, still nursing her coffee cup, still not fully coherent. The younger two punks know this is prime time to do whatever they want. #1 doesn't take advantage of such an opportunity, and therefore some blessed girl is going to be a very well-treated wife...
in 25 to 30 years...
if she doesn't touch his Legos...
