the day before Thanksgiving and lessons underway...the childrens' favorite part (mine too) is pressing the fork gently around the crust, leaving a trail of lines to decorate the part of the pie we all throw away.
I shared my "secret" to perfect pumpkin pie and they all responded with giddy delight, as if the CIA itself were searching for such treasure and I had entrusted only THEM with the correct code. Since all 4 of my silent blog readers are such trustworthy souls I will tell you also but keep it quiet...you follow the printed recipe on the back of a sturdy orange can of Libby's pumpkin but double the spices called for. and you must use REAL nutmeg. grated fresh. not from a jar.
