Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young... a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God." Psalm 84:3

morning goodbyes

Every morning, Caleb's goodbyes to Daddy are full of emotion. "Do you have to go to work AGAIN? Can't I go with you? Okay, one more hug!?" and no, John doesn't suspect abuse on my part...(I hide the bruises). It's simply because we have watched each of the boys, at different ages, go through this same ritual. They just love their Daddy and miss him, and isn't that wonderful? (Well except for when Sam asked "Mom, why don't YOU get a job and then Daddy could teach us?" and we had to explain that the usual "Boys Day" of video games, corn dogs and John Wayne when Mama goes out? That would NOT be a M-F thing...same school stuff and Daddy assured them he was not as patient as Mom but the 4 of us do not entirely believe THAT nonsense )

Caleb used to run out into the driveway (in his Spidey-man underwear...another reason to be glad we live in isolation) and frantically flag John's car down for another kiss-now it's rainy season, so he just stands forlornly at the kitchen door-waves and blows kisses like mad. And John, being the good Papa he is, always drives by real slow, blowing kisses back. Then Caleb, resolved again to missing him for 8 more hours will eat breakfast and face the day. And I started thinking about our Heavenly Father, and how does He want us to await His return? I am sure it pleases Him when we are childishly, passionately watching and waiting for His presence...to keep remembering "for the nearness of God is our good"

That is so cute. Hubby leaves too early for the girls to be up, but when he gets home, he usually gets attacked.

What is First Language Lessons? Who makes that?
