Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young... a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God." Psalm 84:3

boys poems

We are studying various literature genres and are on "Poetry" right now. Here are some original verses by the boys:
This first one is by Sam. He wants to enter it in the State Fair and says if it wins? He might become a poet..."wait, do you get money for that?!"

Predators

A wolf is deadly
the fox is sly
and when you see them,
my oh my!

Tiger in the jungle
fights Tarzan
and of them both
I am a big fan!

Shark in the ocean
with your scary bite
the seals you eat
don't put up a fight!

and here is a cinquain by Josiah. I told the boys to choose a subject they both knew well, and loved. So it was pretty sweet, that he chose John...

Dad
hard worker and caring
wrestling, teasing and playful.
he teaches me cribbage and football
unconditional love.

Caleb decided to try a cinquain also, when free verse was making him frustrated!

Legos
imagine, build, create.
seen in my mind, made by my hands
more than a toy.
