ZuZu was killing 1-2 birds EVERYDAY and she is still a kitten. The guilt I had, in providing all these feeders and luring these birds to their violent deaths was just too much to bear. Three different collars, bells, nothing was working and because of the dog door we couldn't keep her indoors, as originally planned. So a little Internet research and we found the Catbib, made right here in Oregon. Slows down the coordination, just enough to give the birds a fighting chance. John's theory is that the poor cat is so humiliated to be wearing this giant floppy bib that she just doesn't try anymore. Who cares because it works! No more dead birds (which she thoughtfully brought indoors, ALIVE, to torture in my presence and then drag under the boys beds to munch the bones as a midnight snack) But the other night this garter snake was, sadly, unable to fly away as her other victims. Zuzu could return to her favorite sadistic hobby, batting and playing and eventually, when the creature is emotionally and physically exhausted from the game-eating. And unlike the birds who I shrieked and ripped from her paws to save...it's a creepy, slithering SNAKE so-
"Cool! Hey boys-look! and go get the camera!"
