Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young... a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God." Psalm 84:3

always learning.

The boys and I are delivering meals to our senior friends this morning. Since we are in the car for hours together the conversation between the four of us can sometimes get really interesting. One son will throw out a question, another will counter with a "what if" ethical dilemna. I am called in to say who is right, then someone pops up with a historical fact or a scientific example to defend their thoughts and away we go...until we are jumping from subject to subject, like frogs on lily pads.
This is wonderful stuff, and I try not to stifle such free discussion by using my Teacher voice. But often, the temptation is overwhelming. This is how it went, today:

ME: "So, boys...the best way to explain it is like this...Do you understand what the word paradox means?"

CALEB: "Of course!"

ME: Oh? Good.

CALEB: "Sheesh. It's two doctors."
